If you want genuine authentic Indan food then give the Spice of India a try. The Spice of India was once a local pub which has been transformed into a cosy  Indian restaurant. The eaterie is open 7 days a week from 5pm. The usual indian dishes are on offer together with Tandoori and Balti speciality dishes. If you are suffering with the credit crunch then why not try the 4 course mega meal at only £10 available on Friday and Saturdays.Please check this offer is still available before visiting. On other nights most of the starters are under £3 and the main courses under £6 so forget the local takeaway and give the Spice of India a try. The restaurant is fully licensed and also does take-away food. .

RESTAURANT REVIEWS: We have been customers at The Spice of India for a number of years and still feel it is one of the best indian restaurants around. The customer service is exemplary and the staff are exceptionally friendly. My 7 year old daughter is still to get used to eating Indian food and the chef and staff go out of their way to tailor the menu to give her something that she likes. Our drinks are refilled immediately and the prices are very competitive. The restaurant used to be a pub so the cellar is excellent for draught drinks. The Kingfisher lager is the best I have ever tasted and my wife says that The Cobra lager is also exceptional. The restaurant has offers on 3 or 4 times a week where a 4 course menu can be enjoyed for £10. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough and even though it has recently gone over to new ownership, the standards are still exemplary, the food is still exceptional and the staff still as professional and courteous as ever. food 9/10 Service 10/10 Value for Money 9/10                            Mr & Mrs Bell 06/10 .
